Las Vegas sees gambling revenue drop
For the first time since 2001 gambling revenues in Las Vegas aredropping, with revenue in January at $597 million, a 1.3% decrease
from the same month a year ago. The drop comes in the wake of a
record year in 2007, with 39 million visitors coming to the city and
gambling revenue reaching $10.9 billion.
DOT awards Colombia flights to four carriers
The Department of Transportation earlier this week gave preliminary
approval to Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Spirit and Continental
Airlines to operate one new daily flight each to Bogota, Colombia. The
decision will take away one of American Airlines' daily flights to
Bogota, and the airline is protesting it.
